Dumbing it down

Just in case people found “World Upside Down” a little too intense, FEMA repackaged the preparedness message in September. It seems to be a softer sell, downplaying disaster aftermath with an upbeat and sunny ending. Catch it here, from FEMA:

Regardless of what I think of our government, the fact of the matter remains that dealing with any significant emergency is a logistical nightmare at best. Murphy is a hard task master when it comes to disaster relief. It’s a sure bet that not everything is going to go as planned. So, even if the government wants to help in a given situation, they may be unable to do so. Or they may be helping, but by the time that help arrives, it may be too late for some.

Okay, I know… I’m preaching to the choir…
